Waterfall Dresser

This dresser started out with the drawers covered in wallpaper.  I had to first remove the wallpaper, and then strip the drawers because underneath were thick layers of paint.  The top of the dresser had veneer which was in bad shape, so I had to get out my iron and scrape off all of it.  I used a lot of wood filler on this dresser.  I painted the dresser with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Graphite" and used AS dark and clear waxes and then stained the drawer fronts in Minwax "Dark Walnut".

The Office... And a Desk Redo...

Since our big move back into our home in April (read that story here), My husband has been working from home in his office.  The office is really the only room we haven't gotten to yet.  Before we moved back in, I painted the walls in Benjamin Moore "Grey Owl".  Our plan is to do a built in desk, but until the budget allows, he was making do using an old table as a desk.  There is no where to put his stuff, so it remains in boxes.  I found a desk for FREE on CL... and best of all, the seller lives in our neighborhood so he also delivered it : ).  So, I decided to get the desk and refinish it for him to use until we do a large built in desk.

Nick's office before we moved out in 2009:

I first stripped the top of the desk and stained with Minwax Dark Walnut and then sealed with 4 coats of clear poly.  I then primed and spray painted the base and replaced the hardware.  I also added a shelf and some moulding to the tower portion of the base because my husband uses a laptop.

The Piano Table

This is a "piano table"... or so the CL posting said.  It has a flip open top.  It was listed for FREE on Craigslist (LOVE that).  I think it would work well as a sofa table or an entry way table.  I painted it with 1 coat of ASCP in "Aubusson" and then heavily distressed and sealed with a clear poly.

Another Dresser : )

It's no secret that dressers are my favorite pieces of furniture to redo.  I found this one on CL and it was in really great shape to start.  The top was pretty beat up, but other than that, it was fine.  I sanded the top down with my orbital sander and stained it with Minwax "Dark Walnut".  I then sanded the drawer fronts down a little because there were a few scratches.  I painted the whole thing with ASCP in "Aubusson" and then heavily distressed.  The entire piece is sealed with clear poly.  I gave the hardware a quick update with an oil rubbed bronze spray.
