An End Table...

I found this little end table at a Goodwill near our house for $9.99.  I painted the entire thing in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint "Graphite" and then taped off some stripes on the top and painted those with ASCP "French Linen".    I distressed and used the clear and dark waxes over the entire thing.  I left the original hardware as-is.

2 Tiered Side Table

I recently purchased this 2 tiered table at a local used furniture store for $15.  I had to repair the top of the table and then I painted the entire thing with 2 coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Graphite".  I then used ASCP in "Pure White" and "Paris Grey" to paint the Union Jack on the top.  I finished off this table with Annie Sloan waxes in clear and dark.

2 Antique School Desks

My dad purchased these 2 antique school desks at an auction for $11!!  I decided to try out  Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint  on one of these desks.  I decided on "Tricycle".  Before I used the milk paint, I sanded and stained it with Minwax Dark Walnut.  I then washed the desk with the milk paint, making sure to let the dark wood grain show through.  I then used my letter stencils and added some holiday inspired words.  I used a pencil to trace around the stencils and then removed them and used a small brush to paint each letter.  I then sanded and distressed and sealed with clear poly.

On the second desk, I sanded and stained the entire thing with Minwax Dark Walnut and then used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg and some blue painters tape.  I put a stripe at the top of the desk and also on the legs of the desk.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

This year, our Christmas decor is all about the greenery.  I have used more live greenery this year than in years past.  I love the mix of the greens with some pheasant feathers and some red twigs.  I also used plenty of pinecones and birch bark and mercury glass.  I found a beautiful boxwood wreath at Home Depot and hung it over our fireplace right on top of the tobacco basket.  I found the biggest pine cones I have ever seen at Bachman's when I was shopping for my spruce tips.  A very simple, woodsy Christmas : )
