Master Bedroom Reveal

Before we moved out East, our master bedroom consisted of a cheap DIY headboard and side tables from Target.  While we were living out in Virginia Beach, I purchased a lot of neat, old pieces off of Craigslist and refinished them.  The first items I purchased were the huge dresser and night stand from this post.  I loved the size and height of the dresser.  I then purchased an old 4-poster bed that had an old, battered red finish on it.  I sanded it down to the bare wood, and stained in Minwax Dark Walnut and sealed with a clear poly.  After we moved back home, I purchased this dresser to use as our other side table.  I purchased the antique Mersman drum table in Virginia Beach and stripped and stained that in Minwax Dark Walnut as well.

I repainted the walls with Restoration Hardware "Silver Sage",  color matched in Benjamin Moore.  The new curtains are Pottery Barn "Peyton" drapes in French Ivory.  The bedding is Pottery Barn Bella Paisley and Vintage Ticking Stripe.

On a side note:  Our bed is so high that our dog can't make it up into the bed anymore.  And, I refuse to have pet stairs for her, so my compromise was to buy a bench at Home Goods to put at the foot of the bed for her to use to get up and down.  So far, so good : )
