A Summer Mantel and Vacation!

I finally got around to changing out my mantel for summer.  The large piece of driftwood was picked up from the beach down in FL by my daughter while we were on vacation last spring break.  The 2 candlesticks started out as unfinished wood, purchased at TJ Max.  I put a coat of ASCP "Old White" on them and then used AS dark and clear waxes and distressed.  The twig lantern, mason jar and Pottery Barn shell complete the mantel.

I am going to be taking a bloggy break while we head back to Virginia Beach to visit friends.  And, hopefully we'll do lots of this:

and BTW - I just painted my candle holders for my mantel too - don't you find there's a lot of the same projects going on in blogland, lol?
We are so connected the lot of us - that I don't know what I did before I started blogging! I certainly did not " fit " in the way I do now.....too funny
    Hugs,
