Empire Dresser With Swing Mirror

This.dresser.took.forever.  It didn't help that I was chipping off veneer when the temps were hovering around 0.   The entire dresser was veneered.  I had to remove everything off the front of the dresser because it was so chipped.  After I had it smooth, I painted it with AS Provence.  The veneer on the top and most of the drawers was still in good condition.  I ended up having to paint the 2 larger drawers because they were pretty beat up.  I used General Finishes Shaker Maple on the drawers and top.  The entire piece is sealed with AS Clear Wax.

  9. What beautiful work, I saw your link on Wow us Wednesdays, I have just completed a post on refinishing furniture about a clever woman in New Zealand that does this as a job too. You might want to take a look at some of her beautiful finishing for inspiration, its on my latest post.

I have a lampstand and piano stool I inherited from my mother I hop to do something with them myself but I am not a re-finisher and a little worried about how it will turn out. I hope to get my bigger pieces such as the lounge suite finshed by Olivia.
