I decided to use Minwax Jacobean stain, after I sanded down the top completely. I had a hard time deciding on a color for the body. I finally decided on a mixture of chalk paint. I used ASCP in Old White and Paris Grey. I taped off the stripes to make sure my lines were straight, but didn't measure them... just kind of eye balled it to see where the stripes should go. I also filled in the holes from the old handles and pulls, and replaced them with the bin pulls and the large glass knobs. The entire body of the piece was finished with 2 coats of AS clear wax, after a good distressing. I used a clear poly to seal the top. I prefer poly on the tops of my pieces, but that is just me : )
