Funky Dresser

This is another Craigslist find.  Pretty beat up, and had a strange floral motif on the front of one of the drawers.  This piece needed a lot of wood putty and sanding.  I painted it with ASCP in Paris Grey.  I did the stripes in ASCP Duck Egg.  It was looking a little too sweet.. I needed to dirty it up a little.  So, I got out my Valspar Antique Glaze and used that over the entire dresser.  I sprayed the original hardware with an Antique Bronze paint, and replaced the top 2 knobs with knobs from Anthropologie that I got on clearance : ).

  3. Oooo, I love it! Great job. Do you put the glaze on after it has been waxed? I've been wanting to try using a glaze over chalk paint, but just haven't yet.

    1. Thanks, Stephanie!! I put the glaze directly onto the paint. For this piece, I used a clear poly on the entire thing, after I glazed it : )
