A Night Stand

This is a solid wood night stand that I picked up at Goodwill for $9.99.  I had so much other stuff in my cart that I couldn't fit this in too.  So, I took the top drawer out and walked around the store with just the drawer.  I figured no one would try and buy it with a missing drawer : ).  I sanded down the top and drawer fronts and stained them in Minwax Jacobean and sealed with a clear poly.  For the rest of the piece, I used a sample jar of Benjamin Moore "Quiet Moments".  It was just enough to cover the night stand.  I distressed it and then sealed it with a clear poly.  I also sprayed the original hardware with oil rubbed bronze.

  16. Very brave to only take the drawer - surprised someone didn't try to scoop up that drawer less find!

Love Jacobean - I used the same stain on my floors. Love the two tone effect. I'm a Linky follower now!

  17. Kelly, Beautiful job! How funny about the drawer. :-) When I'm in that situation I've learned to take the tag up to a sales person right away. I had a lady one time overhear me talking about buying a bookcase and she went right up to the front and told them she was buying it before I made it up to the front with it. They were actually ringing her up! I found you through Spotlight Saturday at Classy Clutter. Looking forward to following more of your creative projects. Happy Easter!
